Three babies mark this episode of Private Practice. The first pregnant mother lost her husband, who was a police officer. In a show of support his fellow cops crowd the Oceanside Wellness Center’s waiting room while they wait to get a peak of the baby. The woman freaks out just before delivery, and Pete tells her the pain of losing someone does get better with time. He confides to her that he lost his wife.
Addison and Pete finally get another kiss out of their system, and decide to take things to the next level. They make plans to meet at Addison’s later that night. Addison is getting all hot and bothered with the cops there, saying Pete is lucky he’s getting her now.
Violet poses a “friends with benefits” suggestion to Cooper since, she tells him, “Unemotional sex is the only kind you have.” He eagerly agrees. When he tells Pete later that he and Violet are finally going to get together, Pete reminds him that Violet isn’t just some random person.

Sam makes a house call, but ends up in the middle of a robbery at a convenience store. The robber is also pregnant. She’s just shot the store clerk, and while Sam tends to his wound she tells him she’s about to deliver. The clerk tells
Sam he’s the father of the baby. The robber says the guy left her and that’s why she came to the store, because she didn’t have any money. Sam gets through to the woman and with Naomi’s help (via phone) delivers the baby.
A mother of three boys comes in to deliver her last child – finally, a girl! She’s been through it all before, so Naomi decides Dell can help monitor the woman’s contractions. The woman says to him, “You just sit there and catch the baby like it’s a football, okay?” Dell is nervous and decides he can’t deliver the baby after all, but before he can go get Naomi the baby comes out. By the time Naomi gets to the birthing room, Dell is there holding the baby – another boy – in his arms. The mother is upset and Violet tells her maybe the reason she had another boy is because she’s a great mom and will raise
her boys to be great men, and “the world needs more great men.” The wife’s husband comes in and Dell tells him to grow up and stop horsing around with the boys, and help out more. Then Naomi tells her to grow up too because she knew there was a 50/50 chance of having a girl and she decided to populate anyways. She could be like one of the many couples that can’t even have a child.
With all the romance and sex talk, Naomi whines that everyone just leaps and Addison agrees that Naomi is a thinker. When she asks Naomi what she thinks about her and Pete, Naomi just says it’s more of the same for Addison. After all, she’s fallen for the doctor boy with the nice smile before. Addison gets frustrated that Naomi isn’t agreeing with her decision.
One of the very cute cops Addison was swooning over asks her out for coffee later that night. Since she’s got plans with Pete, she politely declines.
Later at Violet’s, her and Pete start taking off their clothes. Cooper starts yakking about babies and kids and Violet tells him to stop talking and just have sex already. After Violet strips down, Cooper changes his mind because with Violet it isn’t random after all and will mean something to Cooper.
Addison is expecting Pete and when she opens the door is surprised to see Cooper standing there instead. Pete stood Addison up. Cooper tells Addison he feels stupid for chickening out on his “friends with benefits” deal with Violet. Meanwhile, Violet is surprised to see Pete at her door, wanting to talk about his wife and him trying for a baby before she died.
Back at the Center, everyone has gone home except for Naomi. Sam comes back in and tells Naomi about his day. She is overcome with emotion and kisses Sam. They end up having sex on the conference room table.
